Somatic Breath Work
The breath is the quickest way to access the nervous system. The nervous system controls how we process traumatic situations. To release long-held blocked energy from stressful circumstances, we go beyond the mind, into the body.
Somatic Breathwork therapy combines circular breathing, neurolinguistic prompts, evocative soundscapes, and therapeutic touch to release long-supressed energy in the body-mind.
Clients have said this modality is “life-changing”, “liberating” and has filled them with a greater sense of “gratitude” amongst other positive benefits.
Liberating. Expansive. Life Changing.
The first thing I thought after the (session) was
‘I have to tell everyone about this. My parents, my friends..
Everyone Needs This in Their Life!
NeuroAffective Touch®
NeuroAffective Touch® (NATouch™) is a neurologically informed psychotherapy that uses somatic and body-centered approaches as vital psychobiological interventions.
Designed to integrate the disciplines of psychotherapy and bodywork, the training uses the key elements of developmental theory, relational psychotherapy, somatic psychology, and bodywork.
By highlighting the primary role of the body and emphasizing its equal importance to the mind, NeuroAffective Touch® addresses emotional, relational, cognitive, and developmental deficits that cannot be reached by verbal means alone. (NATouch 2023)
The body cannot be touched without engaging the mind, and the mind cannot be engaged without affecting the body
Hakomi
Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychology offers an elegant, comprehensive, and uniquely effective approach to psychotherapy, growth and change. Originated by Ron Kurtz in the early 1980s, Hakomi integrates Eastern principles of nonviolence and mindfulness with a comprehensive and experiential body-centered methodology.
Therapy is first about discovering. It’s about who you are and about what your deepest emotional attitudes are. It’s not just about who you think you are. It’s not opinion. It’s not something you can know with the intellect. It’s about who you are in the very heart of yourself. That’s the flavor of psychotherapy, discovering yourself, discovering your real attitudes toward the most important pieces of your life.
